AIT handle Drumsalted Lambskins for double face garment purpose, derived exclusively from major Export Certified Meatworks in Victoria, Southern New South Wales and Western Australia.

Lambskin productions are seasonal, with two main
categories of double face material available – New Season (unshorn) Spring Lambskins, and Shorn Lambskins.

The production of these (unshorn) Lambskins generally commences around July and reaches a peak during November. Wool lengths range depending on the stage of the season.

AIT double face garment selections are generally graded for wool style, seed, and rib, in the Green state (prior to salting) and then graded again after salting. This
procedure is essential to maintain a consistent standard.

Lambskins with evidence of visible seed are outsorted and are offered/sold separately.

Lambskins are graded as follows:

Range: estimated 7 square feet up
Average: approximately 8.0/8.5 square feet

Range: estimated 6.25 square feet up
Average: approximately 7.0/7.5 square feet

Productions generally commence towards the end of November in the shorter wool lengths of 0.25 to 0.5 Inch and 0.5 to 1.0 Inch, and continue thereafter with wool lengths increasing up to 1.5 to 2.5 Inch as the season develops. Double face garment selections are generally graded in both Green condition (prior to salting) and again after salting to ensure correct and consistent selections.

Australian Lambskins are well-suited to double face garment manufacture and other lightweight applications.
